A fall-like storm system is bringing well-below-average temperatures, widespread rain, and even high-elevation snow to parts of Northern Nevada. The National Weather Service reports that snow levels hovered near 7,500-8,000 feet early Monday, with potential accumulation of 4-8 inches in areas like Tioga Pass and June Lake by Tuesday morning.

The current system, centered over Sacramento, is producing showers across the region, with heavier rainfall expected in the Basin and Range area. A second system is set to arrive Wednesday, bringing more rain and Sierra snow above 9,000 feet.

A warming trend is expected by the weekend, according to the NWS.
