For the first time this season, all six No. 1 teams in the USA TODAY Network Indiana high school football poll maintained their top spots as we move into Week 5. This consistency highlights the impressive dominance of schools like Westfield (6A), Plainfield (5A), and New Palestine (4A), who continue to lead the pack. While the top teams remain unchanged, seven new programs have surged into the top 10 across various classes, signaling fierce competition statewide.

6A Highlights: Westfield holds its spot as the 6A leader after a 4-0 start, securing 177 points, including 15 first-place votes. Brownsburg and Warren Central, both also undefeated, trail closely behind. Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Snider makes its entrance into the rankings, pushing Carmel out of the top 10.

5A Breakdown: Plainfield continues its dominance in 5A, maintaining the No. 1 position with 167 points. However, Valparaiso and Merrillville are right behind, creating a tight race at the top.

4A Developments: New Palestine remains undefeated and at the helm of 4A with a perfect 3-0 record. Evansville Reitz and Greenfield-Central also stand strong in the top three. NorthWood’s drop from the top 10 creates space for Columbia City to step in.

    Additional Standings:

    • 3A: Evansville Memorial holds on to the No. 1 spot, while Heritage Hills moves into second place. West Noble enters the rankings for the first time this season.
    • 2A: Lafayette Central Catholic reigns supreme, while North Posey and Brownstown Central solidify their status as contenders.
    • Class A: North Judson continues to dominate, collecting 178 points with 17 first-place votes. Pioneer joins the rankings as North Vermillion falls out.

As Indiana's high school football season approaches its midpoint, these rankings hint at exciting games and shifts yet to come. With several teams vying for top spots, the competition is only heating up as we progress toward the playoffs.
