The Atlanta Falcons have not won an NFL Playoff game in over seven yeas, but the franchise was the talk of the NFL this offseason after handing out a massive contract to ex-Minnesota Vikings star Kirk Cousins.

The Falcons followed up their shocking signing of the 36-year-old quarterback with another move that riled up the NFL masses: the drafting of Michael Penix Jr. in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

With so many resources devoted to the quarterback position, oddsmakers and football fans alike assumed Atlanta had no chance in Monday night's contest against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.

    Then, the unthinkable happened.

Cousins drove his Falcons 70 yards with just 1:39 on the clock, completing 5 of 6 passes before hitting receiver Drake London for the game-winning seven-yard score.

Afterward, Cousins could be seen enthusiastically hugging fired-up Terry Fontenot, the Falcons' oft-maligned general manager who was sharply criticized for the signing and drafting of Cousins and Penix, respectively.

The Falcons are now 1-1 on the season after their statement win with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs coming to town this coming Sunday evening, a game that will show just how far the Falcons' new-looking passing attack has come.
