Drug Divergence plan may assist Brendan Paul

Brendan Paul became a household name after Sean Combs's Florida house was raided in March. Paul was alleged to be Didd'ys "mule" and arrested for felony drug possession.

Paul did not simply drop off the map but might not spend time in jail. He also could have his record erased because, in May, he was placed in a drug diversion program.

First-time drug offenders may be eligible for a drug diversion program, which, after completion, can result in getting the drug charges dropped, dismissed, or sealed. A drug diversion program works by removing or “diverting” first-time, low-level drug defendants from the criminal justice system

Virginia's Drug Divergence program has a different agenda

In Virginia, the State Police offer a pharmaceutical drug diversion program. They work with the DEA, the Department of Health Professions, the Department of Medical Assistance Services, and local law enforcement agencies.

The goal of this program is to combat the diversion of prescription drugs for illicit purposes. The one Brendan Paul entered will give him a fresh start once it's completed.

In Franklin county, Va they allow repeat offenders diversion. Absolutely ridiculous and it doesn't work.
