Dallas Wings star Teaira McCowan made headlines on Sunday, September 15, as they suffered a loss at the hands of Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, 110-109.

After receiving a technical foul earlier in the contest, the Wings center was assessed with a second one with just seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. This led to an automatic ejection for McCowan after she was penalized for shoving Fever star Aliyah Boston.

In the clip below, McCowan is seen pushing Boston from behind after a heated confrontation, which led to Clark and Indiana center Temi Fagbenle getting in the way to protect their teammate.

This was McCowan seventh technical foul of the season, which means that she will be suspended for Dallas' game against the two-time defending champions Las Vegas Aces on Thursday, September 19.

That also happens to be the Wings' final game of the season after they failed to qualify for the WNBA Playoffs.

More than a few fans were not happy with the type of behavior McCowan exhibited during the Fever game, which has led to calls for the league to take action against the controversial center.

"She should be out of WNBA. Have watched many past videos of this unhinged player hurting others & disrespecting the WNBA. Last year she was called on a Technical & she spit at the Referee who issued the foul.

"She is what destroys the WNBA reputation. She needs psych evaluation," a post read.

"McCowan should be banned from the league. Out of control," said another.

"Look her arrogance She beli gs out of the league. Her past behaviors & this game do not belong," a user stated.

"She should be suspended a game for the lurking after she was ejected. She’s so unlikeable," a reaction read.

"The comments and tweets this lady is about to receive is going to be sickening. And the commissioner won’t do a damn thing about it," wrote an observer.

"She has the worst attitude in the W," reacted another.

Despite the backlash, a lot of other WNBA fans also found it funny that McCowan decided to wave to the camera after she was tossed from the game.

Whatever the case might be, what cannot be denied is that the 6-foot-7 has become a truly polarizing figure among supporters.
