Jeremy Allen White recently attended the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, where he was nominated for the ‘Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series’ award. After being declared the winner, he took center stage to give an acceptance speech. However, many noticed that a few words from his speech were muted. This observation led to a discussion about what White specifically said that led to censoring.

Here are all the details on White’s speech and what was censored.

What did Jeremy Allen White say during his Emmys 2024 speech?

White uttered, “Jesus Christ, OK!” amidst his acceptance speech, which was later censored.

Presenters Damon Wayans, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and George Lopez took the stage to announce the Emmy winner for the category of ‘Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.’ White won the category for his stellar performance as Carmen Berzatto in The Bear. This marks his second time winning the Emmys in the same category since 2023.

On Sunday night, after receiving the honor, White gave a heartfelt acceptance speech, initially extending his thanks to the Television Academy and his fellow nominees. He then thanked showrunners Christopher Storer and Joanna Calo for choosing him to play the beloved character. He expressed his love and respect for the “beautiful” cast and added, “I love you forever. I love to work with you, and I just want us to be in each other’s lives forever. I love you so dearly.”

The next moment, his voice went silent briefly, making many fans curious about his censored words. However, Emmy producers have addressed the situation, mentioning the real reason behind the sudden censorship in an interview with Variety. Producer Dionne Harmon clarified they had no control over the censorship and that the beep likely arose from NBC’s side.

“We don’t control the button, and we don’t hear it. We’re on a delay, so we see what happens. We don’t have a feed to the real show. We don’t have the button.”
