Let’s cut to the chase: some of the apps on your iPhone are taking up a tremendous amount of space and memory on your phone. If your iPhone is low on memory it will act up in a few ways: it can be slower, you may receive messages about your storage being full , and your apps can even crash.

There are ways to cut down on the way certain apps can tax your phone and take up memory, but it often involves being open to deleting a few of the top offenders. One tech expert took to TikTok to suggest an app that he recommends deleting so that you can free up storage space.

Consider deleting these four apps to get your phone up to speed.

    1. WhatsApp

Even if you delete your conversations, WhatsApp can still make your phone work slowly. If you don’t want to delete WhatsApp, open the app and click on Settings > Storage and Data. Here you’ll have an option to manage storage. You’ll be able to see past chats and how much memory each has accumulated on your phone. For example, you may have photos on your WhatsApp that are just sitting there — deleting them can help you free up space, especially if you do not have any intention of deleting WhatsApp.

    2. TikTok

TikTok and other social media apps like Instagram store large amounts of data that include photos, videos, contacts, messages, and more. Deleting TikTok is the number one way to gain back storage, but if you can’t cut ties with the app, delete as many videos as you can part ways with and clear its cache by going to TikTok > your Profile > Settings and Privacy > Cache & Cellular Data > Clear Cache.

    3. Games

Games, and especially those with intense, highly detailed graphics, use up a great deal of memory. If you have several games downloaded to your phone at one time, consider deleting a few to help your phone work more efficiently.

    4. Photo and Video Editing Apps

Photo and video editing apps are fantastic when it comes to taking raw footage and turning it into something magical to share. But the nature of these apps makes it so that they store very large files, which takes up a lot of space. If you enjoy using photo apps and can stick to just one or two, that can be helpful, but more helpful is remembering to delete old projects and files when you’re finished with your work so they don’t take up space and memory.
