A former Tennessee Vols defender and a defensive back from the state of Tennessee have been named by the Oklahoma Sooners as captains for OU's game against the Volunteers on Saturday night.

Oklahoma announced on Monday that defensive lineman Da'Jon Terry and defensive back Woodi Washington will be two of the Sooners' six captains for the game against the Vols.

Terry, who started his college career at Kansas, played at Tennessee from 2021 to 2022 before transferring to Oklahoma.

The former Vol said this week that it was "amazing" to play for Josh Heupel at Tennessee.

"It was amazing," said Terry when asked what it was like to play for Heupel. "Coach Josh Heupel is a players' coach, it was amazing to have Coach Heupel as a coach there at Tennessee."

Washington, meanwhile, is a former four-star recruit from Murfreesboro, TN who signed with Oklahoma during the 2019 recruiting cycle.

On Monday, Washington told reporters that he grew up rooting for Florida State, but he noted that he went to several Tennessee football games while growing up in the Volunteer state.

Tennessee and Oklahoma will kick off at 7:30 PM ET on Saturday night.
