Gordy’s HWY 30 Music Fest started in Filer, Idaho and quickly became popular among country fans for its stacked lineups. For instance, this year’s Idaho lineup features acts like Jackson Dean, the Steel Woods, Morgan Wade, Treaty Oak Revival, and many more. The festival got so popular that organizers started running a second event in Texas with similar lineups. The first took place last year in Fort Worth and the second was planned for later this year. Now, that event has been canceled.

The inaugural Gordy’s HWY 30 Music Fest Texas Edition included acts like Zach Bryan, Cody Jinks, Koe Wetzel, Silverada, Muscadine Bloodline, and many more. This year, fans of independent country music, red dirt, and Texas country bought tickets as soon as they were available. Then, this year’s Texas festival lineup dropped.

Nelly, Vanilla Ice, Hinder, Color Me Badd, Tag Team, and DJ Kool were among the headliners. To be fair, there were acts in this year’s lineup that would have fit with the vibe of the festival. However, the strange choice of headliners left many fans unhappy.

The comments on the lineup reveal were largely negative. However, one commenter captured the overall attitude. “Last year’s lineup was so amazing I flew all the way from Canada, this year, well I wouldn’t even drive an hour to see,” they said, in part.

Gordy’s HWY 30 Music Fest Canceled After Backlash

According to a message on the Gordy’s Highway 30 Music Fest Texas Edition’s website the festival has been canceled. It seems that the event’s organizers took the backlash seriously and have decided to give the ticketholders what they really want at this time—a refund.

“As you know, we’ve always been the ‘People’s Festival’ from day one and we want you to know we’re listening. After much deliberation with our team, we have made the extremely difficult decision to postpone this year’s festival in Fort Worth,” the announcement read. “While we were overjoyed to welcome so many exciting and talented artists to the stage, we want to ensure that we also take the time to slow down regroup, and come back stronger than ever in 2025.”

The statement continued, citing health issues faced by the festival’s founder. “As many of you know, Gordy has been facing some significant health challenges, and right now, his focus needs to be on rest and healing. We know how much this event means to you all. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and unwavering support.”

The announcement also stated that ticketholders will be emailed directly.
