Man, 39, shot in leg in Times Square; 3 detained

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police have detained three people after a 39-year-old man was shot in the leg in Times Square early Tuesday morning, authorities confirmed.

It happened at around 4:10 a.m. at West 42nd Street and 7th Avenue.

The 39-year-old victim was shot in the the right leg and EMS transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals / Bellevue in stable condition, cops said.

"I'm in communication with the Midtown South precinct who is reviewing camera footage and questioning three individuals who have been detained," New York City Council Member Erik Bottcher wrote in an Instagram post.

The three suspects detained in connection to shooting were teenagers, law enforcement sources told the New York Post .

The investigation remains ongoing.
