Video of Boy Crying Tears of Joy While Receiving Chiefs Tickets Is 'Melting' Hearts

A video of a young Kansas City Chiefs fan is going viral for one wholesome reason.

In the clip initially uploaded to TikTok on Thursday, Sept. 5 , the boy is decked out in a red Chiefs jersey, jeans and a pair of red and black sneakers, standing beside a car in a parking lot when his father greets him with a red gift bag, cheering, "Happy early birthday, buddy."

Whitny Belknap , the boy's mother and videographer who recorded the precious moment, then asked, "What is it?" As the 7-year-old opened the bag, he pulled out another Chiefs jersey. "We're going to the Chiefs game today!" his dad proudly exclaimed.

"Oh my god," the birthday boy wailed before stumbling over to his dad, shoving his face in his shirt and sobbing. "Love you," he whispered to both parents.

When asked, "Why are you crying?" the boy said he was "just so happy."

Viewers were also thrilled by the surprise, making the video go viral with over 82K views, 14.1K "likes" and hundreds of comments praising the parents for being so thoughtful and generous.

"Man, made me tear up!!!" one TikToker admitted. "Go chiefs!!"

Belknap later told Storyful, per Good Morning America , that her son is a "huge" Kansas City fan and before his birthday, he was upset that he didn't get the opportunity to cheer the team on from the sidelines during any of the 2024 preseason games.

"We just knew surprising him with tickets to the home opener for his 7th birthday would blow his mind," Belknap said in a statement obtained by GMA reporters. "And sure enough, it did."

The game attended by the Belknaps was a good one to be at, too. That is, so long as you're a fan of the home team, as Kansas City ultimately defeated the Baltimore Ravens 27-20 in their kickoff to the 2024 NFL season , or Travis Kelce 's girlfriend, Taylor Swift , who was also in attendance .
