The Atlanta Falcons defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 22-21 on Monday Night Football to end week two of the NFL season. Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins, fresh off the signing of a $100 million guaranteed contract, manufactured a 70-yard game-winning touchdown drive in just over a minute.

Cousins undermined what was a rather positive home opener for the Eagles following their 34-29 week one victory over the Packers in Brazil.

On Monday night, the Eagles duo of Alabama players quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receiver DeVonta Smith showed out in primetime. Still, their performance wasn't enough to best Cousins' late-game heroics.

Hurts accounted for over 200 yards through the air and on the ground and added a passing and rushing touchdown. With star receiver A.J. Brown out due to injury, Hurts turned to his college teammate .

Smith delivered to the tune of seven catches for 76 yards and a touchdown.

Hurts knew exactly where he wanted to go with the ball and Smith did his job of gaining separation from his defender before snatching the throw out of the air.

However, it was Hurts dependence on Smith that was ultimately the Eagles demise.

Following the Falcons touchdown drive, the Eagles offense needed just over 20 yards to give kicker Jake Elliott a chance from inside of 60 yards.

Instead, Hurts stared down Smith on the second play of the drive and Falcons safety Jessie Bates picked off the telegraphed pass.

In under two minutes, the Eagles went from a game-sealing drive to utter disbelief as the Falcons celebrated an early season triumph.
