    1. This Too Shall Pass

Someone shared," This one gets me by when I need it, so long as I can remember. At the end of my rope, I remind myself that I've been here before and was always amazed by how much better things got after a while."

    2. Started With Nothing, and I Still Have Some of it Left

"Seriously: a sense of humor, self-reliance, and the knowledge that change is the only constant is important. I love people and use things. Detachment from material things is helpful," one person stated.

    3. Stuff Happens

Somebody advised, "Most of it is out of your control, so try to go with the flow. Don't freak out about stuff out of your control."

    4. Financial Independence

"To maintain financial independence at all times. In my 20s, I chose to be a stay-at-home mom, which I loved, but I then became stuck in a relationship I did not want to be in because I did not have the funds to leave," one person confessed.

    5. Failing

"You can do everything right and still fail," a person said.

Someone else replied, "You can do everything wrong, but if you start over and try again, you might get it right later."

    6. Always Be Kind

"You never know what the other person is going through...and you never know how long you'll have with that person," one user shared.

    7. Keep Moving Forward

"I had a pretty bad car accident years ago that basically made me disabled and in chronic pain for the rest of my life. I LOVE Life! Don't waste a second," one user warned.

    8. Life is a Cycle

"There will be ups and downs. I've been up, down, sideways, tragedies, health...still here," someone stated.

    9. Storms

"We all go through incredibly disruptive, often sad, life storms. It may be health issues, loss of friends or family, addiction, career, or financial loss. But just like storms, they do pass," a user shared.

    10. Time is Precious

"Arguing with someone you truly love is a waste of precious time in most cases. I regret every argument I ever had with my wife, even the ones where I know I was completely right," a person confessed.

    11. Only Depend on Yourself

"My favorite way of saying much the same thing is: You are, and will always be, your own best advocate," a person advised.

    12. Things Are Never Hopeless

"I would say that things are almost never hopeless. And hope is important. And help is almost always available; you just have to reach out for it, and that is so damned hard for me," a user shared.

    13. Things Could Always Be Worse

"One day, about a fortnight ago, I had coffee with a friend who was battling stage 4 cancer and comforted herself with the fact that at least she wasn't homeless. That night, as per my routine, I fed the homeless. One said things could be worse; at least he didn't have cancer. It was sobering to witness this coping strategy from both sides," someone said.

    14. Good Friends

Somebody shared, "Good friends really make all the difference. And that all the crummy stretches are temporary."

    15. Let Go

"Sometimes you just have to let people go. You're not quitting or giving up, but you've given all you can, and you just need to step back and let them figure things out for themselves," a person stated.
