Controversial NFL Employee Facing Backlash for TV Antics

The Philadelphia Eagles are facing plenty of backlash from fans for blowing a late lead to the Atlanta Falcons on "Monday Night Football." However, a team employee, chief security officer Dom "Big Dom" DiSandro, has also caught the attention of some on social media.

DiSandro took a controversial turn for stardom in 2023 for an on-field incident in which he was ejected for pushing San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw during a scuffle between the teams in Week 13. The NFL later banned DiSandro from the sideline for the remainder of the regular season.

Ahead of Monday's primetime matchup in Philly, DiSandro was part of a feature segment with retired Eagles star Jason Kelce on ESPN's "Monday Night Countdown" show.

After Philadelphia's blown lead in the final two minutes to lose 22-21, FS1's Nick Wright took a jab at DiSandro and the Eagles.

"Listen, you may have just lost a game that you had no business losing, at home, as a big favorite, against a team who looked dead in Week 1, to lose your 7th in last 9 games," Wright wrote on X. "BUT at least Big Dom got to be featured in the ESPN pregame! Super serious, championship operation."

During the game, head coach Nick Sirianni spoke to ESPN's Lisa Salters coming out of the locker room at halftime, and some fans couldn't help but notice "Big Dom" in the background.

"Watch Dom DiSandro see the camera and make sure he gets in it 🤣" one fan observed. "This guy loves the spotlight. Never seen anything like it from the Head of Security."

"The cameraman literally moved the shot to get him out of it and Dom walked to the other side 🤣" another commented .

"Handlers gotta make sure boss sees him," remarked another.

According to the Eagles website , DiSandro is in his 26th season with the organization in 2024. He also serves as the senior advisor to general manager Howie Roseman and leads gameday coaching operations.
