Colin Cowherd Urges Eagles Fans to Get Over Disastrous Loss and Focus on Upcoming Election: ‘You’re Deciding Our Democracy!’

Colin Cowherd urged Philadelphia Eagles fans to be more worried about the presidential election than their team’s most recent loss.

The Eagles on Monday night lost to the Atlanta Falcons in a disastrous late-game meltdown. With the ball deep in Falcons territory, the Eagles needed just four yards for a first down that would have effectively ended the game. Instead, running back Saquon Barkley dropped what would have been the game-sealing catch to stop the clock and force the Eagles to kick a field goal to go up by six points. On the Falcons’ ensuing possession, quarterback Kirk Cousins led the offense down the field in around a minute for the game-tying touchdown. The team took a 22-21 lead with the extra point that would eventually be the final score.

Naturally, fans were furious about the loss. On Tuesday’s episode of The Herd, Cowherd explained how reactions to a Week 2 loss may not bode well for the election.

“I’m actually concerned about the state of Pennsylvania,” Cowherd said. “You do realize, if you look at all the polling, you’re going to decide the presidential election. We need adults in the room here, not throwing a tantrum every time you lose a football game!”

Cowherd then took some time to attempt to ease fans’ concerns about the team, praising the play of quarterback Jalen Hurts and the team’s offensive line.

Then, he made sure to remind them how incredibly important their state is and that their priority should be November.

“You’re deciding our democracy!” he said. “I need you to take a deep breath. Everything is going to be OK. Now, we’ll check back on November 5th on your decision; but everything is going to be OK.”

We are not a Democracy, we are a constitutional republic. Why do so many people not understand that!
