Bears impact player predicted to sign with Jaguars to build 'elite defense'

The Chicago Bears are expected to take a major step forward this season.

Chicago suffered its first loss of the season in Week 2 against the Houston Texans. The Bears had a chance to take down the Texans but fell short. Now that two weeks of National Football League action is behind us, teams are starting to get a better look at their active rosters. There surely will be changes made throughout the season, and each team has weaknesses.

Bleacher Report's scouting department attempted to compile a list of each team's biggest weakness with ways to plug them up right now, in free agency in 2025 and in the draft. The Jacksonville Jaguars could use a boost on the edge, and Bleacher Report linked them to Bears defensive end Darrell Taylor in free agency next offseason.

"2025 Free Agency: Edge Darrell Taylor, Chicago Bears," Bleacher Report said. "If the Jaguars are going to build a legitimate AFC contender, it will take an elite defense. Specifically, it will take an elite pass rush. That means finding options who can get after the passer outside Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker.

"That's a great one-two punch, but it requires at least a few high-level backups to create the kind of front that gives offenses nightmares. Darrell Taylor got off to a great start with the Chicago Bears last week with two sacks in Week 1. At 267 pounds, he has enough size to hold up on the edge and also the bend and burst to also be a problem as a pass-rusher."

Could he end up signing with Jacksonville? Maybe, but it's far too early to know.
