Fall is prime soup time. Pumpkin soup, squash soup, chili, and even the classic chicken noodle are all at the forefront of everyone's minds. Lots of people wait around all year for soup season!

Apparently, that applies to Yorkies too. On Wednesday, September 11th, one mom let her sweet girl have her first soup of the season, and it could not have gone any better. Afterward, her celebratory soup dance captured everybody's hearts:

I think @lebeomgyuism is right: this dog is the princess of the world. She's lucky she found a mom who treats her as such!

This girl's name is Miss Manon, according to her mom, and she is the politest girl in the world. The only other vide she's posted of her came after this one, and she's begging very politely for treats. It's a little daintier than repeatedly shoving her face into the couch, but even so, she's very demure and very mindful indeed.

What we see here is called a "contentment ceremony," which usually happens after a really good meal. It just means that your dog is feeling good: they're satisfied, they feel safe, and they're probably about to take a nap. If you seeing this happening, don't be alarmed. Be happy!

Soup Can Be Great For Dogs

Giving your dog soup might seem like something you only do for a bit on TikTok, but soup can legitimately be a great part of a dog's diet.

If you want to give your dog soup, it should be homemade - store bought and canned soups contain added ingredients that can be harmful to dogs or upset their stomachs. A dog-safe soup should be made without added salt, onions, garlic, and honestly, most of the things that make soup tasty.

For a dog-safe soup, you can do a thicker, creamy soup, like with pumpkin puree that would be perfect for mixing with their food at dinner time. Alternatively, you could thin it out: bone broth, chunks of meat, and a few pup-safe vegetables are great! However, make sure not to give them a whole bowl of a thin soup with things added in. If they go bobbing for them, they could aspirate the broth.

Plain (homemade or specifically pet-safe) bone broth by itself is a perfect addition to your dog's everyday diet, especially when they're having tummy troubles. While it's okay if their soup is a little warm, take care to make sure it's not piping hot. Then you can sit back, relax, and enjoy their sweet little contentment ceremonies!
