James Brasher was shot during a confrontation with officers who responded to a domestic dispute about 8 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of West Santa Ana Street, police said.

Brasher was taken to an area hospital and, after he was released several hours later, he was booked on suspicion of felony aggravated assault, resisting police by force or violence, and violating a court order and parole, police said.

The Orange County District Attorney's Office will investigate the shooting, which is standard procedure.
