C.J. Stroud Issues Bold Caleb Williams Declaration After Texans Win Over Bears

The Houston Texans beat the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football by a score of 19-13 in a matchup that pitted two of the brightest young quarterbacks in the NFL against each other.

Stroud's experience in the league prevailed, as Williams endured a rocky outing in his second start that raised the concern levels of Bears fans ever so slightly.

Given how he missed some easy throws and was constantly under pressure from the Texans defensive line, it was certainly a discouraging start for Williams. After the game, though, it was revealed Stroud shared some words of encouragement with the talented rookie during their postgame handshake.

Putting together a standout campaign as a rookie like Stroud did in 2023 with the Texans is incredibly difficult to do, and in a way, he's to blame for the heightened expectations that Williams is currently facing.

While he hasn't exactly excelled through two starts, it's clear Williams has a ton of talent, and Stroud believes that he is more than capable of becoming a star in the NFL.

Williams will do his best to prove Stroud correct, and he will have his next chance to do just that when he takes the field in Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts.
