Good evening everyone. As expected and forecasted, we're starting to see heavy showers and thunderstorms developing in parts New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming. This broken line is marching to the east and northeast and will be bringing local hazards with it.

Some of these storms in Colorado and New Mexico have had a history of 70+mph winds, nickel size hail, torrential rain, and frequent lightning. For this reason, the National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for parts of Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, and New Mexico. We are expecting these watch areas to be extended into South Dakota, northern parts of Texas, and western Oklahoma as well.

On the easternmost fringe of our severe thunderstorm watches, watches will remain in place until 10pm MDT. Look for very larg hail, damaging winds in excess of 70mph, torrential rain, frequent lightning, and the chance of a few strong tornadoes.

    Be safe everyone.
