Mud Hens event to close part of Washington Street

Two downtown blocks of Washington Street will be closed during the day Wednesday during the Toledo Mud Hens’ Summer Recreation Day event at Fifth Third Field, the Toledo Department of Transportation said.

Washington will be closed between Huron and St. Clair streets from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., with no detour route posted.

Monroe and Lafayette streets are the closest alternatives.

Separately, water line work will close Upton Avenue at Barrows Street on Wednesday only, officials said. No detour route will be posted.
