STORM WATCH: Scattered showers for Wednesday afternoon in New Jersey

The stage for wet weather is set. The question is where does this storm ultimately wind up to determine who sees rain and how much. Potentially, there could be a significant amount of rain falling on some communities Wednesday afternoon and evening. Some guidance suggests possibly 2-4-plus inches. There could be on again, off again showers with half inch to maybe an 1.5 inches of rain collecting in rain guages, primarily at the Shore. Winds will begin to get gusty later in the day as the pressure gradient between this storm and the fair weather to the north begins to tighten up. Winds sustained at 10 mph will be common. Gusts, especially at the Shore, will range from 15 to 25 mph. The coastal storm lingers nearby for a few days, bringing with it the opportunity for more beneficial rain through Friday. The forecast will not be a complete washout. The worst conditions will likely be at the immediate coastline. But there is still a chance for rain and wind through Friday.
