" Monday Night Football " concluded in thrilling fashion as the Philadelphia Eagles mismanaged the clock, giving Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons the chance to pull off a dramatic 22-21 road victory in Week 2. Drake London scored the game-winning touchdown with 34 seconds left on the clock.

The game, which was the Eagles' home opener and featured a visit to the "MNF" booth by retired Eagles legend Jason Kelce , generated significant media buzz. The excitement was evident in the viewership numbers released by ESPN PR on Tuesday.

The Falcons’ comeback victory was watched by 1.3 million viewers, marking a 12% increase compared to the average viewership for regular-season games in 2023 (across 10 games).

The matchup was the third-most-viewed Monday night telecast on ESPN and ESPN2 in over 50 games dating back five years. That does not include games aired on ABC .

The Falcons' win was the first under new head coach Raheem Morris and new starting quarterback Kirk Cousins. Meanwhile, the Eagles fell to 1-1 in front of their home crowd.
