Grande Pizza Subs & Wings at 8373 W Sunrise Blvd in Plantation, Florida, was ordered to close temporarily following a Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation inspection on September 10, 2024. The Broward County pizza restaurant was cited for six violations, five of which were considered high-priority infractions, highlighted by numerous rodent dropping, according to state records.

The inspection report revealed five high-priority and one basic violation. A follow-up inspection was conducted on September 11 to address these infractions, and the restaurant was able to reopen after successfully rectifying all the issues.

High-priority violations included rodent activity, with approximately 112 droppings found in various areas of the kitchen.

The inspector's note revealed numerous rodent droppings discovered throughout the kitchen area—ranging from 15 to 25 droppings in various locations, including next to food storage areas.

Additionally, ready-to-eat items, specifically ham slices, surpassed safe storage dates and were subject to a stop-sale order. Moreover, cut tomatoes were not adequately cooled, overlooking the required cooling temperature for too long, which posed further food safety issues.

Ratings remain relatively favorable, with Grande Pizza Subs & Wings holding a 4.1-star rating based on 452 reviews on Google.

Local Guide Richard Ramey praised the restaurant on Google Reviews, saying, "Love their pizza and inside restaurant menu. Reminds me of NY pizza...".

However, another reviewer, Tony Brown, cautioned potential customers about the violations, referencing a local news channel's coverage of the inspection.

    High-Priority Violations:

    • Rodent activity (approximately 112 droppings found)
    • Ready-to-eat ham slices dated beyond the safe point.
    • Cut tomatoes not cooled to the required temperatures within the specified time.
    • Stop sale issued on food items that weren't correctly stored
    • Failed to adhere to time and temperature safety practices.
