Breaking news swept the timelines on Tuesday from Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo in regards to an update about former Alabama and current Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Tua has been in concussion protocol since sustaining yet another concussion in their matchup against the Bills. Now, the Dolphins have placed Tua on the IR while he progresses through the concussion protocol, and will grant him ample time to meet with outside neurologists to help create a plan to prevent further concussions.

This news come just two days after sources said that Tua had no plans to retire from the NFL and is seeking specialist help with no timetable to return.

With Tua now being on the IR, he will be inactive for a minimum of four weeks while seeking doctor recommendations to help create a safer path for his continued career.

Experts, analysts and fans all around the country have been calling for his retirement, stating it's about more than just football, and that Tua should focus on a healthy life with his family.

It is unclear what the timetable is for his return, but one thing is clear about the entire situation: Tua's health is the top priority, and doctors must recommend his future appropriately.
