HELMETTA, NJ - The borough's annual celebration kicks off on Saturday, September 21 at 4 p.m. This family-friendly event has a jammed packed list of activities including a food, beer and sangria garden, giveaways from local community partners, a live art painting of Helmetta Lake by Spotswood artist Brian Romeo, an Art-Rageous Art Show, bounce houses, face painting, pony rides, dessert trucks, music and a 50/50. There will also be Helmetta Day commemorative tees on sale.

Helmetta Mayor Chris Slavicek will give his State of the Union address to start off the festivities at the Maple Street Pavilion at 4 p.m.  The mayor will also present Helmetta's Hometown Hero recognitions for 2024. Slavicek hinted there will be some special surprises as well.

“Helmetta Day mimics the anticipation of Christmas morning,” Slavicek said. “It's a fun-filled day of fellowship amongst friends and family celebrating our community ever so proudly.”

“It wouldn't be possible without the grit and grace of the incredible administration, the dedicated borough team, first responders, the generous community sponsors and neighboring agencies,” Slavicek continued.

Due to the always high attendance of this community-wide event, Slavicek is encouraging residents to walk to the Helmetta Day festivities. Parking will be available at Helmetta Borough Hall, St. George's Church and Holy Trinity Church. Handicap parking is set aside at the Helmetta Community Center.

The Jamesburg Police Department has announced the following road closures which will begin on Saturday at 3 p.m.
