Odessa man arrested after standing on roof for hours, causing damage

ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – The Odessa Police Department arrested a male individual Tuesday, after the subject reportedly got on to a business’s roof and caused damage to nearby electrical equipment.

According to a release from OPD,  on Tuesday, September 17, officers responded to the 700 block of North Washington, referencing a welfare check on a resident. Dispatch advised officers that an unknown male, later identified as 36-year-old Christian Herrada, was on top of the complainant’s roof. Further investigation revealed Herrada had no right to be on the roof and caused damage to an electrical pole and wiring.

Herrada eventually came down from the roof before being placed into custody. Herrada has been charged with two counts of Criminal Trespass “Misdemeanor A,” Resisting Arrest “Misdemeanor A,” as well as Criminal Mischief “Misdemeanor B.”
