Sami Zayn has competed all over the world and has seen many great tag teams. And his pick for the greatest of this century may surprise some wrestling fans.

Among wrestling fans, there is no wrestler more well-respected than Sami Zayn. The performer once known as El Generico has traveled the globe and competed in quite a few notable companies. However, his longest run has been inside WWE .

First, Zayn became a top star in NXT and faced off against many talented singles competitors and teams. And then on the main roster he has gotten to be in many matches with the two teams many consider to be the best in WWE history, the Usos and New Day.

Yet, in an interesting X exchange recently, Sami Zayn declared one particular team the best of the last 25 years. And they never competed in WWE.

Sami Zayn says the Briscoes are the greatest tag team of the last 25 years

“The Briscoes are the best tag team of the past 25 years, and on a short list for best of all time,” Zayn said in response to a video of a match featuring The Briscoes vs. him and Kevin Owens. “At least a dozen top wrestlers today will tell you the best/toughest tag matches of their careers were with Dem Boys. I wouldn’t be here without them. I miss you, Jay. Love you, Mark.”

Zayn faced the team during his time in Ring of Honor where they put together a legendary run. To many fans, the Young Bucks are viewed as the best tag team of this era as well. But as Zayn said, few are more respected for their grit and toughness than the Briscoe brothers.

Jay Briscoe tragically passed away in a car accident in 2023. Mark currently still competes in ROH as well as in AEW .
