Derek Carr's career numbers in election years is great news for the Saints

New Orleans Saints fans should rejoice that it is an election year.  An eagle-eyed Tiktok person put together career statistics of quarterback Derek Carr .  His best years were in 2016, and 2020, and he is hitting the ground running in 2024.

What is it about election years and Derek Carr?  Consider the numbers. In 2016 with the Raiders, he had 28 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions.  He was also sacked a career-low 12 times. In 2020 also with the Raiders, he had 27 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.  His Quarterback Rating was a career-high 64.3.

Carr is starting on the same foot this election cycle. The Saints are 2-0 , and he has thrown 5 touchdown passes and just 1 interception in 2 games.

It will be interesting to see if Carr can keep up the great momentum.  The Saints host the 1-1 Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, September 22.  The Saints are riding high from their huge win over the Cowboys.  The Eagles are feeling the pain of a short week and a late-game loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night football.
