I worked in surgery for years. We had numerous checks before the patient entered the OR suite..Verification of patient, DOB, consent of surgical procedure in pre-op. Then Anesthesia would come out and speak with the patient, same verifications. After entering the OR suite, the circulating nurse would verify..Then the surgeon would speak with patient to verify before patient was sedated. if these are done, you don't have these horrific stories.

drug test all Drs and give breathalyzer tests...they on drugs and alcohol these days...smh
