Prince Harry set to return to the UK this month - but there's no mention of Meghan Markle

Prince Harry will soon be back in the UK to attend a high-profile charity event in London, after the Royal Family took a small step towards reconciliation .

The Duke of Sussex will be attending the 2024 WellChild Awards later this month in his role as the charity's patron. The charity, which supports seriously ill children, announced the news on X .

They said: "We are delighted to announce that WellChild Patron Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, will attend the 2024 WellChild Awards on 30th Sept. The Duke will meet our inspirational winners at a pre-ceremony reception before joining them in the main event."

WellChild is one of the few UK organizations Harry has kept links with after his dramatic departure from the Royal Family. It's not yet been confirmed if he will be accompanied by his wife Meghan Markle.

Harry has previously said he won't bring Meghan back to the UK due to safety fears. "All it takes is for one lone actor who reads this stuff to act on what they've read," he said back in July, adding: "Whether it's a knife or acid, these are things that are genuine concerns for me."

It's currently unclear if Harry will meet with his father King Charles or his brother Prince William during his time in the UK. The King has an engagement in Scotland just two days before the awards ceremony.

The Duke of Sussex has become estranged from his family over the years, but the relationship seems to be easing up as the Royal Family wished Harry a happy birthday on social media. Harry turned 40 on September 15.

To mark the special occasion, the Royal Family wrote on X: "Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!" It's not common for non-working royals to receive birthday messages on the family's social media channels.

It's been three years since Prince Harry last received a public birthday shout-out from the Royal Family. Prince William and Princess Kate also last publicly acknowledged Harry's birthday in 2021.

Nice that Harry is continuing to support his patronages. I don't blame him for taking precautions with his family,as the Metropolitan Police said the threats are real.

The reference to acid was an ex-husband who threatened ex- wife….and did so. Are any of Rachel’s ex’s threatening her? Harry is so dramatic….maybe keep out of cars since CAR chase in NYC? Besides I don’t remember seeing or hearing anyone attacking Harry in UK for Court cases or anything else….People in UK loosing interest and more concerned with health of King and Catherine…
