The Federal Reserve Is Poised To Cut Rates

For the first time in more than four years, the Federal Reserve is expected to announce it's cutting interest rates today. Bankrate's Greg McBride says the big question is will it cut by a quarter percentage point or a half percentage point. He says the goal is to bring rates down, so they don't stifle economic growth. The shift comes as the fed watches the employment rate closer than inflation since it's nearing the 2-percent mark.
