PORT LAVACA, Texas - The City of Port Lavaca issued a water shut off notice on its social media pages and website.

The water is scheduled to be shut off at 9 p.m Wednesday evening in order for repairs to the distribution system. The water will be shut off between three to four hours.

City leaders urge Port Lavaca residents to complete their laundry, dishes and lawn watering before the 9 p.m. deadline.

Water for essential needs will still be available but residents are urged to avoid non-essential water use after 9 p.m. and to be prepared for low water pressure.

For after-hours water emergencies call 361-552-3788.
