Martin Guitars has partnered with apparel brand Life is Good for an acoustic guitar that spreads the message of optimism through music.

The brand’s ethos promotes the benefits of spending our energy on the good things in life, and that mentality permeates across Martin’s new LX1 Life is Good guitar.

As such, it has been built for travel and exploring the outdoors thanks to its durable, compact construction and resistance to humidity and temperature changes.

As its name suggests, the guitar is based on its LX1E design. The near 3/4-size acoustic has been listed in Guitar Player's breakdown of the best travel guitars , so it's no surprise Martin's reprised the winning recipe here.

The partnership makes for “a musical experience that transcends sound,” to stand as a “testament to positivity and the joy of music,” Martin believes.

The guitar itself has a modified 0-14F body size and figured mahogany back and sides. Its Mod Low Oval neck shape is made from laminated birch and topped with a 20-fret richlite fretboard, offering a more sustainable solution to ebony.

Like the LX1E, it's built to a stunted 23" scale length. Richlite has also been employed for its bridge material, which has white Tusq nuts, while chrome closed gear tuners sit atop its smart and simple headstock.

It comes with a soft shell guitar case and diamond and square inlays, but its Life is Good-designed HPL top finish, showcasing a tree-lined and mountain-capped skyline, catches the eye the most.

Sans electriconics, it’s a pure-bred acoustic and is only available as a right-handed model.

The collaboration also extends beyond just the acoustic, with the new design also featuring on a Martin 0XK Life is Good Soprano ukulele, as well as guitar straps and apparel.

“Whether you're an aspiring musician or a seasoned player, the Martin LX1 Life is Good acoustic guitar is designed to bring out the best in your music and mindset, embracing the simple pleasures that make life truly good,” says Martin.
