It’s a celebration that costs the family about $10,000 including the most significant part of the tradition, the dress.

In Las Vegas, the milestone is so significant that there are several quinceanera stores near Pecos Road and Charleston Boulevard to Maryland Parkway and is known to some as “La Calle De Las Quinceaneras,” or “Quinceanera Street.”

Every quinceanera has a different taste,” Paco Muniz owner of Mis 15 Boutique told 8 News Now.

Muniz has helped thousands of local families for 12 years find the perfect dress and turn into a princess for the night.

Quinceaneras have origins in Aztec and Spanish cultures.

“Back then during that time, princesses wore big dresses for special occasions and that’s where part of this tradition we see today stems from,” Muniz added. “Before girls would choose the color white for their quinceanera dress representing innocence the color white is more traditional.”

“It’s not for everyone,” Muniz said.

The final touch is choosing the perfect crown. Locking down the quinceanera’s new status as an adult to the world.
