SANDY, Utah (ABC4) — A Boys and Girls Club in Sandy was locked down Wednesday afternoon after a bomb threat was reported.

Officials with the Sandy Police Department said the call about the threat came in around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, claiming a bomb threat had been made toward the Boys and Girls Club in the 400 block of East 8680 South. Sandy Police responded and started an investigation into the matter.

The building was locked down and a nearby neighborhood went under a precautionary shelter-in-place warning while police investigated.

Police swept the area with bomb dogs and the threat was found to not be credible. After about an hour, police said the shelter-in-place was lifted.

Police are still looking for the person responsible for making the call.

No further information is available at this time.
