    42 New Mexico veterans honored in Forgotten Heroes ceremony

    ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – 42 New Mexico veterans were remembered with a public memorial service in Albuquerque on Thursday. They were then escorted by law enforcement to the Santa Fe National Cemetery where they were buried with military honors.

    The state Department of Veterans Services holds a Forgotten Heroes Funeral each year, providing a military funeral for veterans who are not claimed by family after death.
