Town of Apple Valley’s Director of Animal Services Gina Whiteside to retire

The Town of Apple Valley announced the retirement of Director of Animal Services Gina Whiteside.

Town officials explained that Whiteside has devoted over 37 years of exemplary public service, 29 years of which was serving the town, its residents, and the animals in her care.

Whiteside has been planning her retirement for over a year and has formally submitted her retirement paperwork, effective later this year, town officials said.

As Whiteside heads toward retirement, she reflected on her extensive career with gratitude and optimism, town officials said.

"I’m excited to begin a new chapter in my life and look forward to staying active in my hometown,” said Whiteside, highlighting her commitment to community engagement.

Adriana Atteberry will take over the management of Apple Valley Animal Services, ensuring a seamless transition and continued dedication to the welfare of the animals in her community, town officials stated.

Atteberry brings nearly two decades of experience and a shared passion for animal advocacy, making her well-suited to lead AVAS into its next chapter, the town said.
