Placer County Sheriff seizes homemade fireworks for destruction

(FOX40.COM) — The Placer County Sheriff’s Office seized homemade fireworks Tuesday with the intent to destroy them, the Auburn Police Department said.

According to the police department, a “concerned citizen” called the Auburn Police Department after discovering what she thought was TNT in a mini storage unit she had won at an auction.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was called for assistance and determined the items to be homemade fireworks.

The police department said the sheriff’s office took the fireworks to destroy them safely.
