Officer accidentally shoots himself during training in Manassas

MANASSAS, Va. ( DC News Now ) — A law enforcement officer was taken to the hospital after he accidentally hurt himself during a training exercise.

On Thursday at around 1:30 p.m., officers from the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) responded to the Scenario Based Training Center in Manassas on Doane Drive.

There, officers found out that during an active training scenario, a law enforcement officer with another agency accidentally shot himself in the leg, PWCPD said.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No one else was hurt.
