The result was Burn Boot Camp , a brand built around 45-minute group workouts blending strength training with high-intensity interval training (HIIT), a highly motivational environment, free childcare, and tailored nutrition guidance.

    One of the franchisees who has witnessed and contributed to this growth is Jim Safron, who joined Burn Boot Camp eight years ago. Now a successful multi-unit owner, Safron reflects on his journey and the powerful formula behind the brand’s success.

    A Personal Connection to Empowerment

    For Safron, the decision to become involved with Burn Boot Camp came at a pivotal moment in his career. “I was at a point where I was searching for what was next,” he recalls. “I wanted more control over my livelihood, to enjoy what I do, and to achieve financial stability.”

    “My wife was a Burn member, and I saw firsthand how it empowered her, both physically and mentally,” he says. “There’s something truly special about empowering women.     Since joining the brand, Safron has expanded his own footprint within Burn Boot Camp. He now owns three locations, with a fourth under construction, and plans for more growth. “I have three locations open, one under construction that will soft open in December, and two other territories where we’re negotiating leases,” he shares.

    The brand itself has also evolved during his tenure.

    “Burn Boot Camp has definitely expanded,” Safron notes. “We’ve added new product lines and refined our processes. But while many things have evolved, the core value of empowering people through fitness and community has stayed the same.”

    Safron has a unique perspective on what makes Burn Boot Camp stand out. “I believe that every business, to some extent, is or should be a marketing company,” he explains. “Marketing is how you attract people to what you’re offering. At Burn Boot Camp, we have a fantastic fitness product, which makes marketing easier. Still, it’s crucial for every small business owner to understand the importance of marketing and to be actively involved in crafting their message.”

    That message centers around more than just fitness. “We offer community, strength, and empowerment,” Safron emphasizes. “That’s a pretty big offering, and it’s what sets us apart from other brands.”

    Building Teams and Success

    As a franchisee, Safron acknowledges that the path to success requires dedication and hard work.

    “Achieving financial success comes down to a lot of commitment,” he says. “Each franchise partner is given the same opportunities, with the franchise providing a solid foundation through excellent fitness programming, quality nutritional products, and retail offerings. But the level of support can only go so far—it’s ultimately up to each owner to run their operation effectively.”

    Despite the brand’s rapid growth, Safron is impressed by how Burn Boot Camp maintains a close-knit feel.

    “Burn has grown significantly, but it still feels like a community,” he says. “The leadership remains accessible, which is a standout benefit for franchisees.”

    Building strong teams is another key aspect of Safron’s success. “I believe in surrounding myself with people who are passionate about what we do and are more knowledgeable than I am in their specific areas,” he says. “Our trainers are exceptional—they bring their best effort every single day. My team handles so much of the heavy lifting, which makes a huge difference.”

    The Rewards of Ownership

    Safron’s passion for strategy and process shines through in his approach to business. “I enjoy working with my teams. I like strategy, I like witnessing the teams execute what we’ve put together,” he says. “I love the moments when we’re performing at high levels. It drives me!”

    Reflecting on his journey, Safron expresses gratitude for the balance he’s been able to achieve. “I never imagined living this well,” he shares. “To be so stable financially but also have time for myself and my family—I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
