BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A Broome County Jury found guilty an Endicott man guilty of drug crimes on Thursday.

District Attorney Paul Battisti announced that Damian High, 50, was found guilty of three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia. He faces up to 24 years in State prison followed by 6 years of post-release supervision.

On April 7, 2023, members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit executed a
search warrant at 700 North Street, Apartment 2, in Endicott. There, investigators located High and found him to be in possession of over 50 grams of cocaine as well as a digital scale. Later on, on February 12, Endicott Police found High sleeping under a bridge. Officers were concerned for his well-being due to his level of intoxication and later determined that he was unable to care for himself. Given the time of day and weather conditions, officers detained High under Mental Hygiene Law 22.09. During a search prior to transporting him to the hospital, officers located 19 individually wrapped baggies of cocaine on his person.

High is scheduled for sentencing on December 16.
