A crash between a car and semi-truck on I-5 in Tacoma left one man dead Thursday night.

A Seattle man was driving his 2010 black Acura on northbound I-5 just south of Pacific Avenue about 11:20 p.m. when he lost control of his car. The Acura struck a semi-truck that was driving in the second lane. The car then struck the left side barrier, according to a Washington State Patrol news release .

The Acura came to a rest in the left shoulder while the semi-truck stopped just north of the crash scene on the right shoulder, the release said. The 44-year-old driver of the Acura died at the scene. The 47-year-old semi-truck driver from Sumner was not injured.

Trucks really should have an absolute separate lane/roadway to travel on. it's like trying to survive a plane crash when a small car gets smacked by a giant truck. Also trucks aren't the best at maneuvering around fast cars and cut offs.
