Good morning everyone. Areas of the Northeast are in for another surprise treat as some drier air has pushed some of our clouds further to the east. This will give most of New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey a relatively nice day. Although we could see a few patchy showers graze the east end of Long Island. Temperatures in the 75-80 degree realm will gently fall into the mid 70's for the weekend, then low 70's by Monday, and upper 60's by Tuesday. Next chance of rain looks like Tuesday night or Wednesday with cooler conditions.

New England is still socked in with the clouds and some gusty moderate rain across southeast Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and extreme southeast Connecticut. We're also seeing the continuation of enhanced tides due to the prolonged onshore fetch of winds, so look for some minor to moderate coastal flooding at high tide depending on your location.

Scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms remain a nuisance over parts of south Florida today, and we'll see that action fire back up this afternoon. Look for locally strong to severe weather, with frequent lightning, strong winds, hail, torrential rain, and the risk of a few waterspouts.

In the Great Lakes area, severe weather remains a concern for parts of Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and possibly into Ohio. Heavy showers and thunderstorms from last night's action remain scattered about, but we could see a new set of thunderstorm clusters forming in the areas mentioned. These storms may contain large hail, damaging winds, frequent lightning, torrential rain, and the risk of an isolated tornado.

Here is your local NYC Metro forecast -

We catch a break today and replace the forecast with a mix of sun & clouds as opposed to cloudy skies and showers. Drier air and sunshine will help boost temps into the upper 70's to near 80 today.

A mix of sun & clouds remain for your entire weekend, with low to mid 70's expected both tomorrow and Sunday.

Your workweek starts off with more sunshine and low 70's, then cooler air works in and drops us into the upper 60's for Tuesday.

The rain would be a welcome sight. A steady, constant rain, without a heavy downpour and runoff is most certainly needed.
