    Seven Mississippi Schools Named Great Colleges to Work for in 2024

    Mississippi higher education institutes are being recognized statewide by the Great Colleges to Work For Program.

    According to the Great Colleges to Work For website, the program has been created in order to recognize and reward colleges that create positive workplace environments. The program was also created in order to more closely examine the many factors that work together to create this postive culture in higher learning institutes.

    The seven institutes recognized for 2024 are Meridian Community College, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Mississippi State University, Mississippi University for Women, Northeast Mississippi Community College, Southwest Mississippi Community College, and The University of Mississippi.

    Meridian Community College was recognized in the categories of Professional Development, Confidence in Senior Leadership, Faculty Experience, Mission & Pride, Faculty & Staff Well-Being, Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness, and Shared Governance.

    Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College was recognized in the categories of Job Satisfaction and Support, Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness, Professional Development, Faculty & Staff Well Being, Mission & Pride, and Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging.

    Mississippi State University was recognized in the categories of Job Satisfaction and Support, Mission & Pride, Faculty Experience, Compensation & Benefits, Confidence in Senior Leadership, Professional Development, and Shared Governance.

    Mississippi University for Women was recognized in the categories of Professional Development, Faculty Experience, Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness, and Shared Governance.

    Northeast Mississippi Community College was recognized in the categories of Job Satisfaction & Support, Mission & Pride, Faculty & Staff Well Being, Compensation & Benefits, Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness, Faculty Experience, Professional Development, and Confidence in Senior Leadership.

    Southwest Mississippi Community College was recognized in the categories of Job Satisfaction & Support, Professional Development, and Mission & Pride.

    The University of Mississippi was recognized in the categories of Shared Governance and Faculty Experience.

    In addition to this recognition, Meridian Community College, Mississippi Gulf Coast College, Mississippi State University, and Northeast Mississippi Community College were also named Honor Roll Recipients.
