Man, 30, Who Died in Pala-Area Traffic Crash ID’d as Tomas Hernandez of Escondido

Authorities have publicly identified a 30-year-old man who died last week in a traffic crash on a rural road in the northeastern reaches of the San Diego area.

Tomas Hernandez of Escondido was heading west through the Pala community on State Route 76 when he lost control of his Ford pickup truck at about 9:30 p.m. Sept. 11, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The vehicle veered across the roadway near Pala Rey Youth Camp Road, overturned, and rolled side-over-side several times, ejecting Hernandez from the cab, the agency reported.

Hernandez died at the scene of the accident, according to the medical examiner.
