In honor of the town’s 35th anniversary this year, one neighborhood will be selected to receive the QC Neighborly Award to recognize its efforts to be QC Neighborly.

Submissions for the award close on Monday, Sept. 23. The nominees will be posted on Nextdoor for voting between Sept. 24-29.

“Whether it’s coordinating a neighborhood donation drive, organizing an event for neighbors to connect or beautifying the streets with a clean-up effort, there are countless ways to be QC Neighborly,” according to the town’s website.

On Sept. 30, the winner of the QC Neighborly Award will be announced across all social media platforms. The winning neighborhood will be offered a free spot in the QC Hometown Christmas Parade on Dec. 7.

The winner will also be invited to accept the award during the Oct. 16 Queen Creek Town Council meeting.

Rules of the contest are as follows:

    • Activity must have occurred by Sept. 23 and within the 2024 calendar year to be considered.
    • Submissions must be for a neighborhood located within Queen Creek town limits.
    • Participants must not have received any financial compensation for their participation or personal gain as a result.
    • Town resources cannot be used to fulfill the project including public safety staff, road closures, special events permit, etc.
    • By submitting the entry, participants agree that the entry and information including neighborhood name, participants and images of the event can be used for promotional purposes by the town.
    • The town reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is deemed inappropriate or does not conform to the stated contest rules.
