    Indian River County, Florida, restaurants with the most violations in the last 30 days

    With an estimated population of 169,795 according to the United States Census Bureau 2023 data, Indian River County in Florida has a dynamic dining culture.

    In the last 30 days, a total of 75 restaurants were inspected by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. Among these, 56 restaurants successfully passed at first effort, while 19 received citations for various violations.

    Staying informed about restaurant inspections is essential for both residents and visitors who may dine out frequently. This article highlights the restaurants with the most inspection violations within the county.

    What Are The Restaurants With Most Violations?

    State records revealed that at the top of the list for violations are Mulligans Beach House Bar and Grill and Heron Point Independent Living of Vero Beach, both cited for 32 violations.

    Mulligans Beach House Bar and Grill, located at 1025 Beachland Blvd, faced five high-priority violations during its inspection on August 26, 2024, which included the highlighted presence of small flying insects. A follow-up inspection on September 3, 2024, revealed 18 remaining violations and the need for a second follow-up review.

    Similarly, Heron Point Independent Living of Vero Beach, situated at 910 Regency Square, was also assessed with 32 violations on August 21, 2024. This inspection found six high-priority issues, but during a follow-up on August 28, 2024, the restaurant complied with standards despite still having 17 violations.

    Elsewhere, Takara Steakhouse Sushi, located at 1335 US Highway 1 in Vero Beach, had 28 violations on August 26, 2024. This restaurant was temporarily closed due to inspection issues but managed to address them in a later review on the same day, although a total of 15 violations were noted.

    I have heard that the Indian River Jail has the cleanest kitchen in the county. With a jail population of about 500 that is 1500 meals a day they make. Thank you Sheriff Flowers for taking care of our loved ones that are in your care.
