A mysterious death in Monrovia

Monrovia police got a call just after 10:00 Thursday night with reports of a dead body found in a shed on Colorado Boulevard.

The shed was on property adjacent to a house gutted by an explosion earlier this week caused by an arson fire .

It is not clear if the death is linked to the fire, and the coroner's office is now in the process of both identifying the person and determining the cause of death.

Monrovia police intend to wait for those facts before deciding their next steps and decline to identify the person who discovered the dead body, saying it may affect their investigation into the incident.
