    South Range flexes muscle in conference win over previously unbeaten Struthers

    CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – The battle of unbeaten teams in the Northeast Eight Conference Friday night was a six-point game at the half, but South Range would eventually pull away from Struthers in the second half in a 37-13 victory.

    Tristan Toy led the way with a passing and rushing score for the Raiders in the victory.

    Toy connected with Troy Combs for a touchdown pass to get the Raiders on the board first. The extra point attempt was no good.

    Last week’s highlights: South Range powers by Lakeview to improve to 4-0

    After Devin Braham ‘s 75-yard touchdown run, the Wildcats took a 7-6 lead into the second quarter. The Wildcats senior finished with 232 rushing yards and two scores.

    The offenses were held scoreless in the second, but special teams got on the board with South Range blocking a punt deep in Struthers territory and scooping it up for a score.

    South Range took a 13-7 lead into halftime.

    Aiden Dominguez found the endzone with a short touchdown run midway through the third to extend the Raiders’ lead. He finished with an impressive 24 carries times for 163 yards and a touchdown.

    A Luke Starkey field goal added three for the Raiders late in the third.

    Braham’s second touchdown run of the game closed the gap for the Wildcats but Toy answered for the Raiders with a touchdown run of his own.

    A Dylan Smesko touchdown in the final minute sealed the win for South Range.

    South Range has won the game, 37-13.

    Struthers (4-1) will visit Hubbard in week six. South Range (5-0) will host Poland .
